Hayai USA/Canada

For those of you in the know, you'll know I've spent quite a bit of time in the US this year. So is it happening?

At the moment, all I can say is "maybe". But I doubt we will be advertising ourselves as "the fastest". We were thinking of something security-oriented... every customer is automatically put on a VPN or the router automatically encrypts data or the whole network acts as a cluster of Tor nodes or or something.

Pricing proposal: Hayai is looking for feedback

Dear subscribers,

As some of you may know, we're looking at launching services in 4 new areas at the moment:

  • Hiranandani Estates, Thane;
  • Kandivali West (some buildings we're not currently present in);
  • Kharghar, Navi Mumbai; and
  • Powai, Mumbai

When I was first approached by the infrastructure provider, I had been considering the following options based on the pricing they've given me so far:

Data plans up to 100mbit/s:  199+usage (minimum 50GB)

Fibre Outage - Mahim - 10/10 15:30 [resolved: 11/10 05:49]

Significant outages have been plaguing us at @hayai_in for the last couple of weeks, and is expected to continue for the next few months - so far (If I recall correctly) there have been 3 outages of at least 4 hours.

4 links to Mahim went down (including 1 genuine fault) nearly simultaneously on 10/10 at around 15:30, leaving only a single cable to carry traffic which was, unfortunately, became quickly overloaded instantly and many people were unable to connect (estimated 80+%)
